What We Believe

Our Name:

Anástasis means to be raised to life, to be resurrected, to be raised to new life. This can be a literal (bodily) or figurative (soul, moral) resurrection. We believe that anyone who calls on the name of Jesus will be saved, forgiven, and raised to new life in Christ.

God is the Creator and Ruler of All Things:

We believe that God eternally exists as three persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), God the Holy Spirit. We believe that each of these are equal to one another and make up one God.

Jesus is the Son of God:

Jesus is the Son of God and co-equal with God the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a blameless life on Earth, died on a cross, and rose again to life. His death on the cross was the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people. His resurrection, three days later, demonstrates his power over death, hell, and the grave. He ascended into Heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father until he returns to rule on Earth as King.

The Holy Spirit Empowers Every Christian:

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with Jesus and God the Father. When Jesus ascended into Heaven he sent the Holy Spirit to be an advocate or helper for all Christians from the point of salvation. As Christians, we seek to submit to his control daily. The Holy Spirit empowers Christians with guidance to live and do what is right, understand spiritual truths, and He provides us with spiritual gifts to serve and honor God with here on Earth. He is also present in the world to make people aware of their need for Christ.

Salvation is God’s Gift that We Must Accept:

Faith in Jesus is the only way to receive forgiveness for our sins and be saved. We believe that when we place our trust in Jesus’ perfect sacrifice on the cross that we are saved, but we must choose to make this decision. God extends us an invitation for eternal life with Him, but we must accept.

Everyone Spends Eternity Somewhere:

God created everyone to live eternally. We will either be eternally separated from God because of sin, or eternally with God because of salvation. If someone does not accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior they will spend eternity separated from God in hell. Those who accept forgiveness and salvation will spend eternity with God in Heaven.
